What Is Blepharoplasty?

As we age, the skin on the eyelids stretches as the muscles supporting them begin to weaken. The excess fat can gather above or below your eyelids, causing bags, droopy eyelids, or sagging areas around the eyes. This not only affects the aesthetics of your face, but can even impact your vision by obstructing the full field of vision.

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that repairs these characteristics by removing the excess skin, muscles and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. Surgery can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids, or in some cases, both. Whether you’re having vision issues due to sagging eyelids or simply want to rejuvenate your eyes, blepharoplasty may be the procedure for you.

JUVÉDERM Facial Fillers

JUVÉDERM is a series of fillers used for various parts of the face. At Georgina Eye Clinic, we provide the JUVÉDERM injections Volbella® XC and Voluma® XC.

What Is Juvedermn Volbella® XC?

The JUVÉDERM Volbella® XC injection is used to add volume to the lips and smooths lip lines. This injection is the most recent addition to the series, and is used to add subtle volume and smooth the overall appearance of the lips. The results can last up to 1 year, though some maintenance may be required.

What Is Juvederm Voluma® XC?

The JUVÉDERM Voluma® XC injection is an injectable gel that instantly adds volume to the cheek area. This formula is used to correct age-related volume loss in adults. The injection targets deeper facial tissue and is for the correction of moderate to severe folds and wrinkles in the face. The results can last up to 2 years, though some maintenance may be required.

What Is Botox® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® is an FDA-approved prescription medicine that is injected into muscles in order to improve the look of moderate to severe lines and wrinkles in adults. The injections target muscles that are used in common daily facial expressions, including smiling and squinting, as well as the areas around the eyes. Patients often use Botox® to correct the following:

  • Deep lines on the forehead (“worry lines”)
  • Wrinkles near the eyes (“crow’s feet”)
  • Frown lines

After BOTOX® injections, you can typically expect to see results days after treatment and further improvements within the following weeks. The results can last up to 4 months, and continuous maintenance is necessary for upkeep.
